Secured card lien removal

  • Q1. Can I withdraw the Fixed Deposit (FD) linked to my secured credit card?

  • Yes, you can withdraw the FD linked to your secured credit card once the lien (hold) placed against the card is removed.
  • Q2. Do I need to close my credit card first?

  • Yes, you must first close your secured credit card before raising a request for lien removal.

    Once the card is closed, the lien removal request is automatically triggered. You can withdraw the FD amount after lien removal.

  • Q3. How can I raise a request for lien removal?

  • To raise a request for lien removal, please call SBI Card Helpline Number 1860-180-7777 or write an E-mail to customercare@sbicard.com
  • Q4. What if my credit card is already closed?

  • If your secured credit card is already closed, you can directly raise a request for lien removal by calling SBI Card Helpline 1860-180-7777 or writing an E-mail to customercare@sbicard.com.

    Once the request is processed, you will be able to withdraw your FD amount.

  • Q5. How long does lien removal take?

  • FD lien is marked with the bank branch. The actual timeline may vary depending on their processing times.
  • Q6. Do I need to submit any documents?

  • You do not need to submit any additional documents if your credit card is already closed. If the credit card is not yet closed, a card closure consent is required.
  • Q7. If a Cardholder is deceased, can a legal heir place a lien removal request?

  • Yes. In such cases, the legal heir must provide the death certificate of the Cardholder. Once the card account is blocked and outstanding is cleared, the lien removal request will be processed.
