Know your Customer (KYC) FAQ

  • Q1. What is KYC?

  • KYC stands for ‘Know your Customer’ and is used to identify and verify the identity of customers. It involves making reasonable efforts to determine the true identity and ownership of accounts, source of funds, nature of customer’s business, reasonableness of operations in the account in relation to the customer’s business, etc., which in turn helps the institutions manage their risks prudently.

  • Q2. What happens in case you do not furnish KYC documents?

  • As per Reserve Bank of India mandate, all credit card customers are required to comply with ‘Know Your Customer (KYC)’ norms and provide requisite information and documentation periodically. In case you fail to do so, your card may temporarily be deactivated for usage.
