  • Q1. What is IMPS?

  • IMPS or Immediate Payment Service is a money transfer facility provided by NPCI (National Payment Corporation of India). Through IMPS, one can send or receive funds instantly and do inter-bank transactions using mobile or online banking.

  • Q2. Do I need to register before making a payment through IMPS-enabled platforms?

  • To make payment via IMPS through a third-party mobile app / net-banking portal, a customer will have to register using the following details:

    • Country Code (2 digit)
    • Registered Mobile Number
    • Last 4 digits of your credit card
    • IFSC code

    However, no prior registration is required for making IMPS payment through bank branch, IVR or ATM.

  • Q3. Can I make payment through a non-SBI account?

  • Yes, you can make payment through IMPS with a non-SBI account.

  • Q4. What is the TAT for processing of IMPS payments?

  • Payments made via IMPS-enabled apps are reflected instantly in your account.

  • Q5. My IMPS payment was successful but not credited to the card?

  • Please wait for 24 hours. If the payment still does not reflect in your card account, please contact SBI Card along with complete payment transaction details.

  • Q6. I have made payment for a different SBI Credit Card by mistake. What should I do?

  • You can contact SBI Card to get the payment updated on the correct credit card.
