If you have received a communication viz letter / email or SMS mentioning that your account has been transferred, these FAQs should be able to help you resolve any queries that you may have

  • Q1. What does ‘Transferred Account’ mean?

  • A credit card account is deemed to have been transferred when the account, along with the card outstanding dues under the Primary Credit Card and Add-on Card(s), if any, is transferred / assigned by SBI Card to a third party / assignee.

  • Q2. What does Account Transfer mean to a customer?

  • The customer’s obligation to pay SBI Card, all outstanding amounts with respect to his / her Credit Card account, is transferred to a third party, who can initiate all measures applicable under the law for recovery of amounts outstanding under the transferred credit card account.

  • Q3. Why was my account transferred? / How can you transfer my account to a third party without my consent?

  • Account transfer / assignment is permissible as per applicable laws and communication in this regard has already been sent to your mailing address / registered e-mail ID as available in our records

  • Q4. Why am I getting collection calls from a third party? / I don’t owe anything, why am I getting calls?

  • There is an outstanding on your SBI Credit Card account and your account has been transferred / assigned to a third party and they would be following up for such credit card dues henceforth. For any information in this regard, you can contact the third party using the contact details shared with you in the E-mail / Letter communication sent to you to inform you about the transfer.

  • Q5. Will SBI Card stop reporting my trade in bureau now?

  • Yes, SBI Card will stop reporting and updating the status of your credit card account. Further, your account status has been reported as ‘Account Sold’ in bureau records. Henceforth, the third party, to whom your credit card account has been transferred / assigned, will report the account status of your account to Bureau.

  • Q6. I want to settle my account / pay in instalments. Please advise. / I do not want to transfer my account. Can I raise a request for the same?

  • We would request you to get in touch with the third party, to whom your account has been transferred / assigned, for further queries pertaining to this account. you can contact the third party using the contact details shared with you in the E-mail / Letter communication sent to you to inform you about the transfer.

  • Q7. I have some specific queries related to my credit card account, e.g. last transaction details, NOC, Previous statements, etc. Who should I contact?

  • For any kind of query pertaining to your account, we would request you to get in touch with the third party to whom your account has been transferred / assigned. you can contact the third party using the contact details shared with you in the E-mail / Letter communication sent to you to inform you about the transfer.

  • Q8. Why is my online account/App not accessible?

  • Your SBI Credit Card account has been transferred, along with the card outstanding dues under the Primary Credit Card and Add-on Card(s), if any, and hence your online login ID has be deactivated. For further queries pertaining to your account, you can contact the third party using the contact details shared with you in the E-mail / Letter communication sent to you to inform you about the transfer.

  • Q9. What is the impact of this transfer on my ability to take new credit cards/loans? Can I apply for a fresh SBI Credit Card?

  • Transfer of Account will have no additional impact on your ability to take new credit cards / loans or a fresh SBI Credit Card.
