  1. What is the One Time Password (OTP) that is required for Online Transactions on my SBI Credit Card?

    SBI Card will now send you a 6 digit numericOne Time Password (OTP) to your registered mobile no. & e-mail id every time you initiate an online transaction. You will need to enter this OTP on the 3D Secure page to authenticate your transaction.

  2. Where will I receive the One Time Password (OTP)?

    You will receive the OTP for all your online transactions on the mobile no.& e-mail id registered for your SBI Credit Card. OTP received on your registered mobile number will be different from the OTP received on your registered email ID .To register or update your mobile no. & e-mail id today, call the SBI Card helpline at 18601801290 or log on to www.sbicard.com.

    Once you have updated your mobile no., you will start receiving the OTP for online transactions after 28 hours.You can also request the OTP on call after 10 seconds of the OTP being sent to your mobile number.

  3. Can I generate this One Time Password (OTP) before the transaction?

    No. The One Time Password (OTP) would be automatically & instantly sent on your mobile no. & e-mail id registered for your SBI Credit Card, after you have started the transaction and entered your card details.

  4. Can I use one OTP for more than one transaction?

    No. Every 6 digit OTP merchant and amount specific and hence is valid only for that particular transaction and cannot be used for any other transaction.

    The OTP SMS & e-mailer verbiages sent to you will also mention the merchant name and the amount of the transaction for easy identification. .

    OTP Validity– VISA/Master Card/American Express Cards - 10 min and Rupay Cards - 8 min.

  5. I was doing an online transaction and have received the OTP for the same. However, I have not used the OTP yet. I have started another online transaction and have also received the OTP for the new transaction. Can I now complete both the transactions?

    Yes. You can do more than 1 transaction at a time and you will receive a separate OTP for every transaction. The OTP SMS & e-mailer verbiages sent to you will also mention the merchant name and the amount of the transaction for easy identification.

    You can successfully complete all your transactions as long as the OTPs for those transactions are still valid.

  6. For how long is the OTP valid?

    VISA/Master Card/American Express Cards – 10 min. or one successful usage whichever is earlier

    Rupay Cards – 8 min. or one successful usage whichever is earlier

  7. What happens if I input the OTP incorrectly?

    You can enter the OTP incorrectly a maximum of 5 times. After 5 unsuccessful OTP attempts, your transaction will be declined.You will need to re-initiate the transaction by entering the SBI Credit Card details again at the merchant site. A new OTP will be sent to your registered Mobile Number.

  8. What happens if I do not receive the OTP?

    One Time Password (OTP) would be instantly sent on your mobile no. & e-mail id registered for your SBI Credit Card, after you have started the transaction and entered your card details. If you do not receive the OTP, please check if your mobile no. & e-mail id registered for your SBI Credit Card is correct or not.

    If the registered details are correct, you can request for the OTP to be re-sent to you by clicking on the ‘Resend OTP’/’Resend OTP on call’ link

  9. How many times can I request for an OTP to be re-sent to me?

    You can request for an OTP to be re-sent to you up to maximum of 5 times. If you have exhausted the no. of attempts and have still not received the OTP, please re-start the transaction.

  10. I see a message that my mobile no. & e-mail id are not updated with SBI Card? What should I do?

    This message means that the OTP cannot be sent on your mobile no. & e-mail id since you have not registered your mobile no. & e-mail id with SBI Card. To register your mobile no. & e-mail id today, call the SBI Card helpline at 18601801290 or log on to www.sbicard.com.

    Once you have updated your mobile no. & e-mail id, you will start receiving the OTP for online transactions after 28 hours.

  11. I see a message that my SBI Credit Card details are currently not available. What should I do?

    Please call SBI Card helpline at 18601801290.

  12. I hold an Add-on SBI Credit Card and I want to do an online transaction? How can I receive the OTP for the said transaction?

    Every time that an online transaction is initiated on an Add-on SBI Credit Card, the OTP for that transaction is sent toregistered mobile no. of the Add-On cardholder in case a mobile number is registered with SBI Cardfor the Add-on Card. . You may contact your primary cardholder to get the OTP for the transaction initiated on your Add-on Card.

  13. What if the OTP is not requested by me?

    If you have received an OTP and neither you nor your Add-on cardholder has initiated the online transaction at the merchant and for the amount as specified in the OTP message, please call the SBI Card helpline at 18601801290 immediately.

  14. What if the merchant name appearing in the OTP message is not where I did the transaction?

    If you have received an OTP and neither you nor your Add-on cardholder has initiated the online transaction at the merchant and for the amount as specified in the OTP message, please call the SBI Card helpline at 18601801290 immediately.

  15. The page where I input the OTP is showing a different mobile number (last 3 digits) or e-mail id, what should I do?

    Please log on to www.sbicard.com or call the SBI Card helpline at 18601801290 to update your registered mobile no. & e-mail id.

    Once you have updated your mobile no. & e-mail id, you will start receiving the OTP for online transactions after 28 hours.
